As a community outreach project, The COVID-19 Response Group's mission is to bring widespread understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic to the people of Blaine County through no-cost antibody testing, education, and prevalence evaluation.

We chose to suspend operations as we navigate the landscape of rapidly changing federal regulations. We will move forward in a way that provides the best testing project for the community.

Your support is greatly appreciated and we thank you for your involvement with this project. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please visit our website for future updates.

Our tests will be a rapid/point of care test created by Confirm BioSciences from San Diego.  It tests for two different antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19; IgM and IgG.

-  Generally speaking, IgM is released by our bodies early in the course of disease.  The levels of this antibody peak during active infection.  Having a positive IgM test in an indication of current or resolving infection.

-  IgG is an antibody that is produced later in the course of an infection and helps impart long term immunity.  Having a positive IgG test does NOT necessarily indicate immunity.  However, a positive IgG test does indicate resolving or past infection with COVID-19.

There is no test available right now that determines immunity to this virus.  More studies are currently being done (some in Blaine County!) to determine how much IgG our bodies need to be immune to this virus.  It’s not clear how long it will take for us to know what IgG level will impart immunity.
